The Permanent Resident status allows foreign nationals to live and work in Mauritius for a period of 10 years.
Eligible persons for permanent residency :
Foreign national spouse of Mauritian citizen resident in Mauritius.
Foreign investor with 3 years in Mauritius and holds an "occupation permit"
and whose annual turnover is at least Rs 15 million (about 348,615 euros or 466,200 US dollars) during the 3 consecutive years.
Investments of at least 500,000 US dollars (about 412,500 euros or Rs 16,087,500) in an activity
from the following list : agribusiness, audio-visual, film and communication, banking, construction,
education, production of green energy, financial services, fisheries and marine resources, freeport,
information technology, infrastructure, insurance, leisure, manufacturing, tourism development and storage.
Independent contractor who resided three years and holds an "occupation permit" and whose annual income
is at least RS 3 million (about 76,923 euros or 93,240 US dollars) during the 3 consecutive years.
Employee who resided three years and holds an "occupation permit" or a valid work permit and whose
base salary is higher than Rs 150,000 (about 3,846 euros or 4,662 US dollars) per month during the 3 consecutive years.
Foreign retired who resided three years and holds a residence permit and that transferred 3 times 40 000 US dollars
(33 000 euros or Rs 1,287,000) each year on his account in a bank in Mauritius.
