Job Brief: The HR and Talent Development Manager supports the people management functions that underpin the business culture * Please note that the position is only open to Mauritian nationals JOB SUMMARY: The HR and Talent Development Manager supports the people management functions that underpin the business culture. The broad areas include: employee matters, salary and benefits, reward, talent growth, communications and performance management. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary job responsibilities will be to: Lead and direct the Human Resource team to deliver comprehensive HR services to the hotel Oversee recruitment & develop retention management strategies Manage employee relations disciplinary matters and grievances Measure employee satisfaction and together with the heads of department identify areas that require improvement Maintain the health & safety and the welfare of all employees Manage the performance management system Advise on rewards and has a thorough knowledge of the company benefits Develop a talent development program and provide guidance on development for managers and their teams Implement new HR policies, procedures and processes In conjunction with the Group HR Manager, ensure all company policies and procedures are up to date in line with current employment law DESIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years of proven generalist HR experience including the ability to work at both operational and strategic level Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent Influencing, persuading, coaching and negotiating skills Ability to represent the Human Resource function as part of the bigger business picture Confident directing HR and advising managers on all aspects of people management and development Fully conversant and up-to-date with all aspects of employment law and HR best practices Previous experience in industrial relations management Capacity to anticipate future needs and identify opportunities to learn new things for current and future needs in the department Facility to think laterally to identify and develop creative solutions Used to take action to improve standards of excellence Ability to manage the stress effectively Strong capacity for resilience | |
