BOARD OF INVESTMENT:

Board of Investment (BOI) is the agency of the Government of Mauritius in charge of promoting investment in Mauritius. It is therefore a key player for foreigners wishing to invest in Mauritius.

Its role is to assist and advise foreign investors, as well as issuing permits (eg. for rental or purchase of property for IRS and RES programs) and permits (work and residence).

Services Provided :

• Counseling on investment opportunities in Mauritius
• Information on specific industries and help to launch your business
• Identification of potential partners in Mauritius
• Organization of visits and meetings according to the investors’ needs
• Advice on the location of the business, means and equipment
• Centralization and help with administrative formalities : occupation permit, residence permit, work permit or other (in collaboration with the Immigration and Passports Office)

Please note, for foreign staff (none investors) who wish to work in a company in Mauritius, the applicant must apply for a residence permit at the immigration office and passports. Thus, the employer will contact the Ministry of Labour.
